Foundling

This story is a bit longer than my usual ones. I'm submitting it for a scholarship contest at IUS, so here's hoping it's good. Feedback, as always, is welcome. Klein's making or will be making a cover for it in a similar fashion to To Catch the Rain. The cover can be found on this page under the print tab: Portfolio. Here is the story: Foundling.

Updates!

Some minor updates to the site have gone in. I added a Filmography portion to my Works(formerly Bibliography) tab as well as put the pages up for a couple other stories. Sadly, my group did not win the Insomnia Film Festival, but I still had a blast with it. Feel free to take a look and comment, as it's linked under Works. It was my first film, and I ...

Slowly but surely I'm working on the site. Still some minor aesthetic things to sort out and some links to fix, but it's mostly operational. I've been a bit slack this week due to my shift change at work, but it also means that I will almost absolutely have the time for my project in the next weeks. Midnight to noon shifts are basically dead, they tell me. Anyway, I ...

Insomnia Update

Well, after quite a few problems concerning team members, casting and technical difficulties, our Insomnia film has been submitted. I'd like to thank Ben Corwin, Josh Williams and Klein Maetschke for the amazing weekend and fantastic work. Thanks to Brianne Beck and Seth Parker, our actors, for putting up with my last-minute script changes. And to Josh Spicer as well for being Robin Darjeeling. I'll post a link as soon as ...

Somewhere Between

Well, I made a promise to myself when I purchased this website that I wouldn't let a week pass without writing something new. So, this is more of a draft than a real short story, but I think people will forgive me. None of this is meant to be published, I just want to become a better writer and see what people think more than anything. The things ...

A Dove

I think I figured out the best way to do this. Just make a "blog" post when I upload a new story, but upload it as a "page." Man, it's like I'm intelligent or something. Will probably be going through and redoing all the old content this way. EDITED: You can now find this story under the Bibliography tab up top. - Bishop

Searching For Stars

An older story, one of the first I wrote, and obviously something of a fan fiction. I'm slowly dredging up my online writing from the past five years, so it could take some time to post it all. I'm also trying to figure out exactly how many words need to be in this opening so that my story doesn't show up here. Pretty difficult to find out, actually. ...

Content

Over the next week, I will be adding more content. Most of this is going to be old content, as everything before this was. However, I will make sure to note what is new and what is not, and what is merely a different version of another. Happiness is writing for nobody but yourself. - Bishop

Poetry (old)

Cloudy I remember it was cloudy And the sky a dreary gray The sun grew black and distant As if it could not stay Retreated past the point Of which I cannot see Taking with my happiness So only lonely could I be Autumn slowly changes Into the cold dark night Death all around us In colours vast and bright Deepest red to auburn brown Light yellow also too Fading like so many things To reappear anew Barrens branches without Snow upon them still Waiting for that ...

There they stood, ranged along the hillsides, met
To view the last of me, a living frame
For one more picture! in a sheet of flame
I saw them and I knew them all. And yet
Dauntless the slug-horn to my lips I set,
And blew. "Childe Roland to the Dark Tower came."
   -- Robert Browning
